Innovation To Ur Life

What Innovation Can Do To Your Life

The power to innovate –- this is one talent that only a few have utilized to the fullest.

Have you ever marveled at somebody's creative prowess? Guess what, you have the same power, too! Everyone is born creative. The box of crayons in kindergarten were not limited only to those who possessed potential. The truth is, everybody has potential.

Recall how long it took you to learn to ride a bike or drive? How many mistakes did you commit before finally learning a new skill? It's the same with innovation. It takes practice and patience. This article will teach you how to bring innovation into your life.

  • Follow the beat of your own drum.

Asking input from unsupportive people will only bring cacophony to the music you are trying to create. If you have an original idea, sometimes it is best not to explain it to people. They won't understand it. You will probably get negative feedback. If all geniuses listened to their peers, we would still be living in the middle ages.

  • Spend time on creative pursuits.

I cannot stress that enough. I am not saying that you quit your day job entirely. If other people were able to pursue both their dreams and work, why can’t you?

  • Engage in exercise.

Take a walk. Run a mile or two. Send all those endorphins coursing through your veins. Exercising clears and relaxes your mind.  It makes your mind alert for creative ideas.

  • Record your dreams.

You may have weird dreams that your conscious mind would never have thought of. These dreams show the untapped innovative power within. Jot down your dreams as these may just ignite the innovative spark in you.

  • Find your own style.

You can always tell a Van Gogh from a Matisse. You will know Hemingway by his choice of words on paper. Find your own style. People will appreciate what is unique, original, and useful.

  • Don't hide behind nifty gadgets or tools.

You do not need the most expensive set of brushes to produce a masterpiece. You do not need some expensive fountain pen and high-grade paper to write your bestseller.

In fact, J.K. Rowling wrote the first book of the Harry Potter Series on bits of tissue. An expensive SLR camera is only a waste if you are not a skillful photographer. A top of the line laptop is useless if you can not write at all. A true artist actually reduces the number of tools he has as he gets better at his craft for he discovers what works and what doesn't.

  • Work with passion.

What makes you jump out of bed in the morning? What keeps the flame burning? What is the one thing that you really love to do?

Sometimes people with talent are overtaken by people who have the desire and passion for achievement. Ellen Degeneres once said that if you are not doing something that you want to do, then you do not really want to do it. Sometimes you just want something badly that you become virtually unstoppable. Passion keeps you going.

Don't worry about inspiration. For some people, inspiration hits when them when least expected. Be prepared for these moments. An idea could pop up while you are on the subway, yet you have no sheet of paper to scribble down that thought which could change the world. Avoid these disasters. Have a pen and paper within your arm's reach at all times.

I hope this article helped bring more innovation into your life. Keep in mind that you are doing these things for your own satisfaction and not for anyone else. Go ahead, try these tips and discover what innovation can do to your life!
